SEOUL BIBLE CHURCH

I've realized that I have never posted anything about our church. We are a congregation of about 50 persons. The congregation is comprised of about 1/3 Koreans who speak only a little English, 1/3 Koreans who are bi-lingual, and the final 1/3 non-Koreans who speak English.

Sunday school is taught in English. The morning service is conducted in English and simultaneously translated into Korean. Our hymnals are bi-lingual, with the Korean words on the left page and the English on the right. Everyone sings in his own language. Sometimes I try to sing the Korean.

After the morning service, we have a fellowship time. Following the break, separate Bible studies are offered in Korean (taught by Pastor Kim)and in English (taught by Pastor Threlfall).

Once a month (3rd Sunday), we have a fellowship dinner. This is always a good time. We non-Koreans enjoy sampling many delicious Korean foods, and the Koreans get to try some of our Western specialties. When the meal is over, many folks stay for a singspiration.

GFA missionary, Doug Threlfall is the pastor; Pastor Kim is the Korean pastor. Pastor Ken Johnson, also a GFA missionary, teaches Sunday school.

The church meets in the same building as our school in Bongcheon. The phone number is 02-876-3939.
